“Kliffs machen Popsongs für schüchterne TänzerInnen.“ hat neulich jemand im Netz geschrieben und das kommt der irgendwo zwischen Andy Shauf, Sophie Hunger, Sufjan Stevens oder Patrick Watson oszillierenden Musik des Berliner Duos unglaublich nahe.
Kliffs ist das neue Projekt von Mark Bérubé und Kristina Koropecki, beide eigentlich aus Montreal, Kanada. Mark Bérubé hat schon fünf eigene Alben auf dem Musiker-Buckel, Kristina Koropecki ist viel als Cellistin von Agnes Obel unterwegs. Die Kliffs-EP aus dem April 2019 ist ihr gemeinsames Debüt: “We made this EP in the spirit of one of those perfect endless summer days where the casual congregation of friends, a park, a soccer ball, conversation, an impromptu concert by the canal, and the slipping sun on the horizon leave you with the full realization of how good it is to be alive. Then you walk home complete and at ease with the bittersweet of parting.”
